Funny this is when Karmic brought them together, I am sure you said "that's a good usability move". I am not whinging. Fact is that sooner or later GNOME implements features from KDE and the world says "Aha! that's the way to go!" Until then, its "Oh boy! that's a usability nightmare"
Did I say that? I don't think so. The fast-user-switcher/shutdown/IM-status thingy never made ANY sense to me. No one who borrowed my computer ever got it without having it explained, either.
Maybe I said "that's a good usability move," though. If so, I must've been high.
I like the split. The shutdown button needs to be a bit wider for those of us who are a bit clumsy. I end up opening the Me menu when I try to scroll down the shutdown menu. :D
